At ScubaStand, our mission is to make scuba approachable, safe, and exciting with a community united in the journey to explore scuba together.
Our Story
ScubaStand was launched in 2026 after Amy Chen, our founder, returned to scuba diving after a hiatus and quickly rediscovered the magic of the ocean. What started as a personal return to diving turned into something more.
A trip to Raja Ampat, Indonesia left her in awe and reminded her why she fell in love with diving in the first place. It also highlighted how overwhelming it can feel to navigate diving resources.
Amy created ScubaStand to be a place where curious, new, and returning divers can find dive information and feel connected to a supportive community.
Our goal is for divers to feel informed, inspired, and excited to explore the ocean. Along the way, we hope to spark a love for marine life and a desire to protect it.
Our Founder
Amy Chen is a scuba diver, freediver, and pharmacist with a deep appreciation for the ocean and the life within it.
With a background in healthcare, she brings a strong focus on safety, awareness, and thoughtful decision-making which are values that naturally carry over into her approach to diving.
Her journey in diving has included both excitement and moments of uncertainty, giving her a firsthand understanding of how overwhelming it can feel to get started with diving or return after time away.
She created ScubaStand to make diving more approachable and easier to navigate, especially for those who are curious, new, or building confidence.
Through ScubaStand, she hopes to help others feel more comfortable in the water, more connected to the diving community, and more inspired to explore and protect the ocean.
